Thursday 31st July.

Only 1 more full day to go!!

In yesterdays little tale I mentioned my new outfit…

Last week in a complete moment of weakness I gave into temptation and spent rather a lot of money in a rather exquisite shop in Rugby called Terracotta…

Anybody who knows the shop knows that the clothes that they sell are beautiful and I must add well worth the money…. even more so when its sales time!

Luckily for me its sale time… I bought a truly stunning “Save the Queen” coat style jacket, which I fell in love with the moment I saw it… and with a considerable discount it just had to come home with me!!

Now the same old problem occurred when I got home…

What do I wear it with?

Another stroke of luck for me is the fact that it’s my birthday on Saturday (which I think I’ve happened to mention!) and my husband wants to take me shopping!!

We head for Royal Leamington Spa, first stop (well only stop apart from a Tapas bar!!) another beautiful shop Revolve…

I had obviously taken the jacket with me, I must have looked like I meant business walking in with my huge Terracotta bag as I was almost instantly approached by a lovely sale lady. (I’m hoping that’s what they thought and not that they needed someone watching me like a hawk as they thought I could be a shop lifter with the size of my carrier bag!)

I took my jacket out of its huge bag and shopping commenced!!

I had a lovely 2 hours, tried on so many different dresses and then found the prefect one, then came shoes…

This took some time, I love shoes…

At this point, well I think it was at this point, (I was so wrapped up in my shopping experience that I hadn’t noticed) my husband had found himself a seat outside the shop and was making the most of the sunshine…

… no need to rush now that he’s comfortable and not hovering round saying “its fine babe, take your time”

when really that means will you hurry up, especially when after 2 hours you end up with what you tried first!! (So sorry guys… it’s just a girly thing!!)

I found, with the help of the lady (sorry I don’t know your name and I feel quite rude referring to you as “the lady”!) my prefect outfit!!

This is now the point where the husband comes in… time to pay!!

It is part of my birthday present after all…

Wed 30th July…

Only 2 more days to go then its Saturday…

Saturday 2nd August, my 40th birthday…

It started of a normal sort of day, lazy morning…checked my laptop for anything other than sales e-mails… no…

Had my shower and that’s when I decided…

Well it was sort of when I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror really…

that my hair looked a bit… well drab.

You see I have left it for some time now without any colour and gone naturally grey,

salt and pepper I think they call it… any way this morning, with only 2 more days to go, I made my mind up there and then…

WHITE BLONDE…

Now has luck would have it I’ve already got an appointment booked for today, and what’s-more the 3 kids are booked in as well so I’ve got a while in there anyway…

What the hell just phone and see if they can fit me in!

Ellie has been doing my hair for 7 years now, the last 2 of which being at her salon, so is quite used to me by now, (although still gets worked up about doing my colours, can’t for the life of me understand why!!)

So when I phone and say what I want it wasn’t too much of a shock and she managed to fit me in!

What a star…

3.15pm the kids and I arrive on mass at the hairdressers, oh at this point the kids don’t realise that I’m having a colour…

I sit down and that’s when the transformation started and when the kids realised that they have got a long wait ahead of them!

The time went quite quickly for me, what with coffees… flicking through various magazines… the usual gossip, ect…

I had completely forgotten I have the kids with me, by this point I’m down to 2 as the eldest has taken himself to his mates…they were very good… bless them!

I normally have to give them money to go to the shop just to keep them quite but not today… couldn’t quite work it out at first but I think it must have been the shock!

5.45pm. It’s done…

I’m white blonde… I have the look I wanted…

I have white hair…

When I go out on Sunday with the family, in my amazing new outfit…

(That’s another story!)

I have the look I wanted for my 40th birthday…

and all I have done is assisted the greying process with just a little help from some peroxide and an amazing hairdresser and her team!!
